We Are All Just Learning

I think sometimes we forget that we actually have to learn stuff.

That we aren’t born with all these adequate features that make living seem like something we’ve done a hundred times over.

No. We have to learn behaviours, methods and techniques. We go through trial and error and gain knowledge by failure.

All of THAT, all of the above, takes TIME. It’s called Experience and sometimes it takes 4 of the same mistakes to get it right.

And thats okay.

As long as we are always trying to improve, we can’t be so hard on ourselves or each other. If we don’t embrace the times we mess up, we end up carrying around a whackload of weight that we haven’t learned anything from.

And what good are tomatoe seeds in our pocket, if we don’t know how to put them in the earth and grow them.
What good is weight, when we have the ability to soar.

Learn to learn,
and you’ll be yearning to learn more.

  1. Very wise thinking. Sounds vaguely familiar… 😀

Glad to see you’re really delving into the whole learning and growing phase. 🙂

  2. Its so true. If we r willing, its a continuous learning process till we die.

  3. I also think the key is to re wire your brain to learn positive things when we’ve already learned the negative… If that makes sense lol

Hex Yes. Totally sensible thing to do. they are called bad habits for a reason. our negative tendencies can be exactly that. and our brain has gotta fricken learn the diff.

Wow, this is really eye opening! 💥

  5. So true, learning never stops at any point in your life. Even when you grow old, your life will still try to teach you new things. Such is part of the beauty in being alive, to sometimes learn the unexpected and use such knowledge to aid you appropriately.

Thanks for the time it took to think and to write that. Yeah, age is a good point too. Doesn’t matter how old you are, you’re still learning because you are still living.

Hi there! Just wanted to add my tidbit of what your post made me think about, which is that life is a lot of improvisation, and improvisation can be fun as well. In theater improv games, an individual may miss a cue, freeze, or make a mistake, which in the end none of the end results matter as so long as the individual continues to strive for improvement and aims to learn more. Learning is the only key.

I’m sorry I didn’t reply to this sooner- I just saw that I hadn’t now. But yes, you make a good point with your improvisation word. Actors are going to mess up occasionally and the only way they’re not going to anymore, is to take effort and whip up a batch of forward movement! Thanks for your comment!
