Chippity Thunks

I wonder if when adults walk into the water just past their hips and stand there, if they are peeing.

And when you mix drinks all night, and go to brush your teeth with the desire to mix both toothpastes you have, on your brush.

How many of us parents on a regular basis rethink a specific moment in the day, of how we reacted poorly or that we could have listened harder? And wonder how your child is going to turn out and how much of an influence we are to them and that feeling of not ever being greater then we are.

In the future , will there be interactive movie theatres with control pads for every seat?  And the majority of what the audience chooses, is what happens in the movie.
And if it’s a shitty movie, the only ones we can blame are ourselves.

Do we say thank you for the new acts of love that show up in our lives but not for the everyday ones?
Do we appreciate ourselves for the way that we love?

How often do I buy a bag of trail mix and add a whole other bag of smarties to it so I can trick myself to think I’m eating a decently healthy snack?!

It’s weird how my dry shampoo- before I brush it in, gives me a glimpse of what I would look like with grey hair.

I hope we don’t sacrifice too much of ourselves just to make a relationship work. Can we be happy doing that in the long run? And the sacrifices we do make, how do we know when there’s too many?

Mind to Taste Bud

Wine in a mug at a party you’d been at for an hour and it still tastes the same as when it was in a wine glass before you left your house.

Fresh: because sometimes your mind talks to your taste buds like they’re trying to be a part of the flavour. Eight drinks in, your mind can talk and your palate can handle a stronger drink.

And when your mind crumples and you no longer taste wine, but sleep;
that’s when the night is done and the morning looks like sipping a Caesar.

Reality and Perspective

I don’t always understand what I see but reality has a quality that can blind us, thwart us or call us beautiful. And the real cool magical spice behind that is, our reality is largely based on our very own perspective. Our angle determines what shapes and sizes we see. There are positions we choose to be in and ones we don’t have control over,  and what we have decided or not decided to be within us, is where our view becomes what the reality is.

When I think of reality I think of conditioned hair with the ability to choose our own shampoo. We are a product of our past, conditioned to our experiences. But it does not mean we cannot outgrow, differ or tweak what we were ‘supposed’ to believe in. We can change our type of shampoo. We are all hairdressers even if we’re bald. I’m not one nor am I,  but I do understand my hair.

Our perspective on reality gets more realer the more we invest on learning the whys and the hows of individuals and situations.
We can align with the core of us, and recognize that everyone else has a core too, and by putting forth effort in having more experiences that differ, the more perspective we have.

We gloom , we glee, we get closer to a bigger reality.

Clarity

Chipped up bananas with sauce the colour of an August sunrise.
Bent from clues across the globe, this place carries itself in it’s own hands.
Careful not to crunch in the dill, that spice is for the yellow rubber ducks. Free from speech because it’s expensive to make one. Or we’re not captured when we speak, only capturing audiences we can’t control.

I won’t buck at stars, but I will drink stars for a few bucks.
I will try not to do E and cough, but I will drink coffee.
Drinks are all the power in your system. Monsters, bulls with wings, even the captain sends morgan to connect with you. As hazy as that gets, they’ll always be the stars to drink, yeah it’ll cost you a few bucks, but the cost of clarity is indispensable.
